Alan J. Hughes Custom Sawmilling uses both portable and stationary sawmills to meet production demands.
Our portable mill, the Wood-Mizer LT40, is equipped with de-barker, lube-mizer system, log loader, and Turner package (a winch for loading and turning logs). This mill is powered by a 25 HP Kohler motor and handles logs up to 20 feet long and 30 inches in diameter.
Our stationary mill is a Wood-Mizer LT15 personal sawmill with extra bed extension and will support logs up to 16 feet in length and 26 inches in diameter. This mill is powered by a 15 HP Kohler motor.
At our Perth facility, we also use a Massey Ferguson farm tractor equipped with tow-motor forks to assist material handling. Our equipment receives regular maintenance, which helps keep the quality of our milling high.
